Hello Ito,
1. MTS's computer programs all work internally with +/- 10 volts full
scale- as you know, and we won't change that.
2. MTS's ADDA cards all have 15 volt power supplies and can output 12
to 13 volts, we can not change these.
3. Therefore, even if the software is changed to output 5 volts full
scale, it is a certainty that sometime the ADDA will get a signal to
send out more than 5 volts.
4. If the ADDA sends 13 volts, will that damage NTT's equipment? If
NTT says yes, then we must not change input/output to 5 volts full
scale.
5. If 13 volts will not damage NTT equipment ( Note: NTT would have to
assume responsibility for their equipment because someday a 13 volt
signal will go out) then software changes for input/output to +/- 5
volts can be done on site in March.
6. Everyone knows any software change requires time and time costs
money so MTS will have a cost to make the change. I wonder why NTT asks
we do this for no charge? Will they help us during installation at no
charge in exchange? Remember, we are already making an artists drawing
at no charge. In America, we sometimes do something at no charge but
the customer then helps us in some other way as a fair exchange.
7. The artists drawing changes should be done tomorrow.
Regards- Omar
